Adrenal Stress Index:
This non-invasive saliva test can help to evaluate adrenal stress and fatigue. Four saliva samples are collected throughout the day to monitor adrenal hormone output. Adrenal Fatigue is a collection of signs and symptoms, known as a “syndrome” that results when the adrenal glands function sub-optimally. Adrenal issues are commonly associated with intense or prolonged stress; they can also arise after acute or chronic infections. Many factors can reduce adrenal function including poor nutrition and lack of key vitamins and minerals. Adrenal issues are accumulation of triggers over a period of time which later leads to anxiety, irritability, fatigue and exhaustion. Identifying and correcting this issue can have a dramatic impact on the way you feel.
Gastrointestinal health:
This non-invasive test is ideal for those who have chronic health issues as well as gastrointestinal complaints. A simple stool sample is collected in the privacy of your own home and then mailed overnight to the lab. This test evaluates digestion and absorption, bacterial balance and metabolism, yeast and immune status for patients with irritable bowel syndrome, indigestion, malabsorption, and other GI-related problems. It is a cornerstone test for any generalized health issue.
Oxidative stress:
This non-invasive urine test is a screening tool that is performed in our office. It helps to identify individuals that are at risk for chronic degenerative disease. In your body there are renegade molecules called free radicals that can cause serious cell damage. Free radicals are unstable molecules that are always looking for electrons they can steal from healthy molecules so they can stabilize themselves. The process of stealing electrons causes major damage to cells, tissues, and organs, and is believed to be a major cause of cancer, heart disease, aging, degeneration and other health conditions. By identifying this issue early on we can help to blanket the damage that may be occurring silently in your body.
Male-Female Hormones:
Researchers have become more aware of evidence showing that hormone imbalance may be the root cause of many chronic health issues. Symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, weight gain, irritability, mood swings, loss of sex drive and infertility may be apparent with altered hormone levels. When levels of each hormone are in the right proportions, body systems are stable. When balance is lost, hormone deficiencies or excesses can cause various health symptoms and disorders as well as raise risks for disease. Andropause and menopause are associated with decreased hormonal levels in the body that are responsible for many unwanted health symptoms. Screening for Testosterone, Estrogen, Progesterone, DHEA, LH, FSH and other related hormones it is easy to identify if your problem may be hormone related. We typically utilize blood or saliva for these tests.
Organic Acids:
This is an optional test that we offer for those individuals who have chronic issues with multiple areas of involvement. Chronic health challenges, immune system issues, always sick or never feeling in good health are common complaints for those who should have this test done. I also recommend this test for those individuals who have autoimmune and poly-system issues. It’s a way for us to look at the waste products your cells are metabolizing and then “back-track” if you will, to the underlying deficiency or excess. This is the total opposite of blood testing which looks at the direct ways that the body try’s to maintain homeostasis. If you go to your doctor and all of your blood tests look normal but you still feel sick, this test may be for you.
